Grace Life Baptist is an Elder-led church. God is our supreme authority, but He has graciously given us a plurality of Elders. The Elder body cares for the congregation like shepherds care for sheep. This includes feeding, caring for, and protecting them. The Deacons come alongside the Elders and are mainly responsible for helping meet the physical needs of the church.
Our Teaching Pastor, Jeremy Vanatta, grew up in Watertown. He's married to Sarah, and they have four children (Rachel, William, Lydia, & Kate). Jeremy received his bachelor's degree from Middle-Tennessee State University and both his M.Div and Ph.D in New Testament & Greek from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. He has pastored churches in Tennessee and Mississippi since 1999 and now serves as one of the Elders of Grace Life Baptist in the role of Teaching Pastor. In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, gardening, reading, and playing the guitar and mandolin.
Our Music Minister, Matt Williamson, grew up in Lebanon. He is married to Becky, and they have three children (Emma, Eliza, and Graham). Matt serves as one of the Elders of Grace Life Baptist and also serves in the role of overseeing the music and structure of our worship service.
Bruce Fennell, Jhy Johnson, Michael Lalonde, and Phil Root are the deacons that serve alongside our Elders.
